Yummyyy exotic breadfruit! Yep this yellow crunchy thing is a fruit! The young small fruits you can enjoy as a sweet desert while the older big fruits can be fried or baked and tastes like bread!! But actually even better. If you love vegetable fries you will love this all-round fruit warm and soft inside but crunchy outside with a good selfmade humus as a dip.
I was so lucky to get this amazing organic plate for free! Well, I just can say it over and over ...being open, interested and willing to help you will be always blessed you will get double back.
So in this case one hour volunteering on Waihuena Farm to meet interesting people, learn about organic farming and sharing a good time on North Shore Hawaii turned out to be the best spontaneous experience these days! So I got a delicious meal all fresh organic farm products from the surrounding plants and it can get even better: cooked by a real Italian! I guess everybody knows about the chef qualities of Italians... It was such a nice afternoon with this simple living Woofers. Fresh healthy food - totally my lifestyle! Mingled with inspiring communications between agriculture students, a freelancer for self invented gloves to help bodysurfing and me the free travelling spirit.
Due to this smooth energy between us they just invited me for the next Monday evening having a potluck together on the farm with the BlueGrass Band, some good food and bonfire atmosphere. Yeahh again free food! Of course I was bringing some too. I decided for the fresh hawaiian raw Ahi fish plate called Poke. But I got to try so many various dishes of all the different families. Was the perfect happy potluck evening!
So check out http://www.waihuenafarm.com and enjoy this little eco paradise right across the street of Banzai Pipeline the surfers paradise.
